Welcome to another edition of 100mL Destinations, our version of a city guide.

This time we're heading to the South of France, where the days stretch a little longer, lunch rarely lasts less than two hours, and the Mediterranean teaches you the art of slowing down.

The Riviera has long been associated with glamour, but its real appeal lies elsewhere. It's found in morning swims before the crowds arrive. In market stalls overflowing with peaches and tomatoes. In quiet village squares where time feels pleasantly irrelevant.

You can spend a week here without ever rushing. In fact, that's probably the point.

Come for the coastline. Stay for the rhythm.

And perhaps most importantly, allow yourself to wander.

Destinations

Nice

The unofficial capital of the Côte d'Azur and one of the best places to begin. Start the day with coffee in the Old Town, wander through Cours Saleya Market, then make your way to the Promenade des Anglais for an afternoon by the sea.

Antibes

Our favorite home base on the Riviera.

Smaller and quieter than Nice, Antibes combines a beautiful old town, a working marina, and some of the region's most charming beaches. It's the kind of place where an afternoon stroll easily turns into an entire evening.

Èze

Perched high above the Mediterranean, Èze feels suspended between sea and sky. The climb through its narrow stone streets is rewarded with panoramic views, hidden gardens, and some of the most breathtaking scenery on the coast.

Villefranche-sur-mer

A postcard brought to life.

Pastel buildings line the waterfront, fishing boats drift in the harbor, and the water is impossibly clear. Arrive early, stay all day.

Menton

Tucked against the Italian border, Menton offers a slower, quieter side of the Riviera. Known for its lemon groves, colorful facades, and relaxed atmosphere, it's one of the region's most underrated destinations.

Saint-Tropez

The legend persists.

While beach clubs and yachts often steal the spotlight, Saint-Tropez still rewards those willing to look beyond them. Explore the old port in the morning, browse the market, and lose yourself in the winding streets before the crowds arrive.

Marseille

Raw, vibrant, and endlessly fascinating.

France's oldest city doesn't try to be polished, and that's exactly what makes it special. Spend the morning exploring Le Panier, stop for seafood along the Vieux-Port, and end the day watching the sun set over the Calanques. Marseille feels less curated than the Riviera and all the more memorable because of it.
